The Client's Business Requisite

Flatworld Solutions was approached by UK's number one provider of motorcycle insurance to explore the opportunity of outsourcing their IT services. As an insurance provider, they were not being able to dedicate enough resources to the IT team.

Overall performance, therefore, took a hit, as frequent downtimes of 5 minutes or more caused significant business losses, and the lack of resources meant they could not capitalize on the latest technology to support their core business strategy as well.

Project Challenges and the Flatworld Solution

The client's business requirements were unique since they were looking for dedicated IT support services in different time slots, namely -

  • 14 hours on Weekdays
  • 8 hours on Saturday
  • 4 Hours on Sunday

The IT support team also had to work with the client's existing team, while covering 6 different locations throughout the United Kingdom.

In order to ensure that all client requirements were successfully met, we devised and executed the following strategy -

  • We set up a team of FTEs (Full Time Equivalents) who worked on the project in a round robin manner to ensure all tasks got their undivided attention without fail. This also enabled them to cover long support hours
  • We automated most of the routine work while swiftly setting up a brand new ticketing system and other relevant processes
  • We remotely monitored the client's servers while proactively ensuring there were no downtimes, ensuring the client could focus on core business activities
