The Client

For this project, we teamed up with one of the top engineering consultancies of Canada. Over the years, the client has specialized in providing consultation and support to the leading Energy and Automation companies regarding management of technical projects.

Situation - Business Needs

The client's primary requirement was 2D into 3D file conversion. The two dimensional PDF files had to be converted to three dimensional DWG files. MicroStation software version 8 had to be used. This task had many minute detailing, and all other previous companies to which the client had outsourced the work, failed to provide a correct solution. Our company, being one of the most reputed offshore outsourcing companies, was eventually approached by the client to complete the task at a premium quality.

Challenges

Time Crunch: The entire project was to be completed within a mere two weeks.

High pre-defined standards - Each PDF file had high amount of pre-defined standards. The conversion process was challenging as these standards were to be maintained precisely. Some of them were as follows -

• Colors
• Line weights
• Text sizes
• Line scales
• Text adjustments
• Font styles
• Font sizes, etc.
