The client is a US based green company that helps people make green choices in their daily lives. The client’s website helps people make green choices such as saving power and finding environment friendly products and energy-efficient alternatives.
The Need
The challenge was to create an iPhone application that would help people make energy efficient choices. The iPhone application also needed to have the technical capabilities to help people make healthy choices at the supermarket or grocery store. The mobile app would also need to help users save power and make energy efficient choices in their homes and workplace.
The Solution
Flatworld Solutions’ mobile development team developed an iPhone app that would provide information to users to help them determine how healthy or green their choices are. The iPhone app was developed with the following capabilities.
- Map Feature: This specially designed feature helps users to browse through their house, zoom in, and tap on any object to learn more about it. Using the information gained, users are then able to make green choices like buying eco-friendly furniture, recycling paper in their home office, installing water-saving techniques in the bathroom and setting up recycling centers in the garage.
- Categories Feature: This feature allows users to define actions and products under each of the following categories: Save Money, Save Energy, Material Selection, Save Water, Indoor Environment, and Design Tips.
- Check Lists Feature: This feature helps users to determine how healthy each product is. This is especially useful when the user shops for different products like food, beauty and skincare products, toys, games, computers and building materials.
- Forum: The Forum allows users to read the latest posts, read existing comments by other users and submit their own posts and comments.
